Shipping Madness!

Turtles all the Way Down is here! Buy a copy now at Gracefull Things.

Okay, our house is pure shipping madness right now. I picked up about 500 of Turtles all the Way Down on Friday afternoon. We have 200 orders. We've mailed 100 of them so far. It's a little time consuming because I'm writing a short note in the books of everyone who was on the Consafo team. Their advance purchases funded the project. Still, I think we've done pretty well. Jeanene and Lillian and I make quite a little shipping team. Jeanene on the computer printing postage and updating the spreadsheet. Me signing and getting them to Lillian, who stuffs envelopes and is making 25 cents for each order. So she's happy!

And I must say that it is amazing holding the book in my hand. It's rather like giving birth. Here is this little book I've dreamed of.

gracefullsnapThere is plenty of time for us to mail books to you if you want them for Christmas gifts. Standard media mail will get them there in time up until about December 14th. Between the 14th and the 20th is iffy. We have a Priority Mail option too, if time is a factor. Turtles all the Way Down is available along with my other books at Gracefull Things.

WHAT ABOUT THE BOOK FURNITURE?

Yes, it is true that I constructed a chair out of the boxes of my first book after it was remaindered by Eerdmans. Paul Soupiset asked if I was going to do that again. The answer is YES. I won't pick up the remaining 1500 copies until later this week. That's about 40 cases of books. I have NO idea where I'll put them.

Maybe I can make a recliner this time and watch the Dallas Cowboys' traditional December meltdown in style!

Congratulations, Daddy!

I imagine you do feel that birthing experience! Lots of hard work behind you (and in front of you too by the looks of the pics). Excited about receiving my copy soon, along with the others as gifts. And happy for you, Gordon (and those elves in the pics with you!) :)

It's Here!

I got my copy today. I'm thinking about framing it. My wife thinks that's silly because it makes it hard to read, but I'm pretty sure it's the only book that is ever going to have my name in it.

Nothing in my life has

Nothing in my life has compared to receiving the first box of finished books. Nice.

Woo hoo!

Looking forward to holding Turtles in my hands, and to passing on the second copy to someone who will love it as much as me!

Not got mine yet,

but being in the UK is a pretty good reason for that, I guess. Can't wait - it's a surprise Christmas prezzy for my wife. Hope some of the pages go blurry.

WaveyDavey

you guys are great!

Looking forward to reading this...and the Christmas Story!

Got mine!

Thanks so much! It's cool to be a part of the Consafo Team. I'd forgotten I'd have my name in the book, too... neat!

Got mine yesterday.

When I got home yesterday evening, I had a package from Gordon and Jeanene Atkinson. Made my night. Hopefully this weekend I'll be able to read some of it. Great work, Gordon (and family)!

got mine yesterday. good

got mine yesterday. good stuff!

so cool

I can't express how excited we are to see our name on the credit page. (Are we the only church listed there?)

Plan on seeing another order from us - when we got a few bucks in the plate to order some more.

Proud to have been a small part of this with you - thanks for the risk and leadership that allowed us to!

I clicked the link for ordering a copy and it said it had moved. Then the next link was page not found. Hope this is not slowing sales!

got it

RLP:

Got the book, and have had trouble. Putting it down. Its a good read, some of which I think I remember on the website, but not all of it. I have enjoyed it immensely, and will likly finish it by weeks end. Thanks for putting it together, and thanks to your editorial staff as well. You can tell its a labor of love, and I have enjoyed reading the stuff I had never seen before.

See you online,

deemus

I giggled when

I pulled the Baylor Line from around my book. Good packing materials!! I usually just throw mine away.

Didn't know you were a BU alum.

Sic' em,

My Latest Book

turtles I’m proud to announce that Turtles All The Way Down came out in November of 2009. This was my first experience with the Consafo model of social media community publishing.

2000 copies were printed. We sold well over 500 as advance purchases or in the weeks leading up to Christmas. This paid for the printing costs completely.

Purchase at GracefullThings.
