Wrong Way Preacher Comes Home

We made it back from the reunion, which was not bad, to my surprise. And I did not get lost.
FYI - We passed the following cultural icons as we approached Mexia:

  • Red Man Bingo (with a picture of a native American)
  • Drywall Masters
  • Country Estates Mobile Home Park
  • Sandy Church of God in Jesus Christ
  • Glo's Antique Teacakes and Such
  • Jim's Krispy Fried Chicken in downtown Mexia, where Anna Nicole Smith supposedly worked while in high school.

Reading through the comments left yesterday, I was touched to find that some of you were truly concerned about me. I admit that I get lost more than most adults, but I usually find my way...eventually. No need to worry. We have phone service throughout most of Texas now. I can always call for help.
Just for fun, here is a listing of towns I have ended up in by mistake. I've included the appropriate error category as described in my post yesterday:

  • Denton - Wanted to go to Sherman, but "pulled a V" coming out of Dallas.
  • Palestine - "Bypassed" Livingston by two hours.
  • Corpus Christi - Was heading for McAllen, but "pulled a V" outside of Three Rivers.
  • Dallas - "Wrong Way" error. Left Dallas heading for San Antonio. Got off the freeway in Waco and got back on going north. Ended up in Dallas again.
  • Yoakum - "Wrong Way" error going home from a family reunion.

I realize this list is rather dramatic, but if you consider the hundreds of trips I've taken in Texas, the odds are very much in my favor.

Thanks for your prayers and support. It's good to be home.

My Latest Book

turtles I’m proud to announce that Turtles All The Way Down came out in November of 2009. This was my first experience with the Consafo model of social media community publishing.

2000 copies were printed. We sold well over 500 as advance purchases or in the weeks leading up to Christmas. This paid for the printing costs completely.

Purchase at GracefullThings.
