NEW - RLP Ringtones

September 10, 2007 - 8:50am

I don't get ringtones. I mean, I know what they are, but I don't care enough about them to download any. I'm happy with whatever ringtones come with my phone. But my kids like them, and I understand some people buy them online.

Buying ringtones? Why? I'll give you a selection of RLP ringtones for free. Enjoy. Note: You'll have to have a phone that can import an mp3 file and use it as a ringtone for these to work. Right click to download.

Lordy, Gordon! First of all, the first one made me laugh out loud (I hate the abbreviations...) Second, the irritating one seriously got my cat's attention. Like sit up straight and stare at the computer with head cocked at a peculiar angle. Third.... if my phone talked like the polite one I would jump out of my skin every single time a man's voice came from my purse.

Fourth-- you rock. Write ON!

THANK YOU for really brightening my day! These are perfect!!!!!

Orange, I think that one just woke up my cat too! She's trying to go back to sleep now.

I'm using the traditional now.

Thanks!

I also like my phone to just make a ringing noise. I don't need my latest-greatest favorite song blasting from my pocket every time my mom calls.

Submitted by Sandykins on September 10, 2007 - 12:06pm.

Well done! I do like the polite ring signal the best. My husband doesn't even mind if I use it. It put a smile on his face, too.

I hated the idea of having a ring tone that I customize...until I heard the polite one. Laughed so hard I hurt my throat.

OMG, I am laughing so hard the tears are running down my cheeks. These are soooo funny. I think I'll pick the Irritating one. That'll turn heads when I'm shoppin' at Target. Though the Jetsons has that retro appeal.

Gonna go listen again. *grabbin' kleenex*

I didnt quite get the Jettsons, was it the car noise?

Submitted by rlp on September 10, 2007 - 3:48pm.

Yeah, prolly a bad impression, but their flying, bubble-top cars made noises kind of like that.

Submitted by Anonymous User on September 10, 2007 - 2:39pm.

I am a tone-a-phobe also - except for the polite one. Not too sure how irritating the Texan accent would be in Australia though. Probably get some dirty looks with that!

I love the polite one!

Submitted by Anonymous User on September 10, 2007 - 3:25pm.

I don't answer my phone a lot of the time as it is, but I think I'd appreciate it if my ringer specifically gave me permission not to. Unfortunately, my phone was free and thus is not so fancy as to be able to import an mp3. Pity.

Wow. I tend to read your blog last out of all my regulars, and I see that that's still a good decision.

This made my day. My damn phone just rings...loud or soft...okay it vibrates but that brings up issues I don't want to deal with..

I do think you need one more...the silent ring tone...of course I just turn my phone off for that.. :)

Oh, wow, that was hilarious, especially picturing you sitting at your computer recording them.

thanks for the laugh!

My husband could not figure out why I was LOL. It was the mental image of RLP doing raspberries into a computer mic. I am still laughing. I may have to hack my phone to get the polite one on.

OMG that's too funny!

Submitted by Anonymous User on September 10, 2007 - 10:23pm.

could you add one that says something like,
Excuse me, your phone is ringing... I think it might be Jesus. Maybe you should answer it.
or something like that?
or maybe like a WWJD sort of theme for answering the phone...
like "look at the caller id... now decide, who would Jesus talk to? Not that person? Yeah, me neither."
something like that...
just an idea

These were absolutely brilliant! The rest of the office think I'm mad but that's even more funny :). I especially giggled at the irritating one ;). Coming from the land of Nokia I have to appreciate the sarcasm :).

Quite hysterical. And they also brought out my dark side - the desire I've sometimes had in movie theatres, churches, etc., to fire someone's offending cell phone into the toidy! :-)

Submitted by Anonymous User on September 11, 2007 - 8:08am.

You made my day!! I laughed so hard and then heard my husband yell from the other room, "What the hell is that?" Guess that was the irritating ring tone. I am still laughing!!

Submitted by Anonymous User on September 11, 2007 - 8:35am.

I think somebody was having writers block and took some time off!! That was great!

No, you're just a dork! (But I did smile)

When I first got a cell phone, I played with all the ringtones, choosing one I liked. Later that day, I was walking downtown, and thought I heard music coming from a street corner. "Ooh, is there some live street music?" I wondered excitedly. Then I realized that the music was coming from my pocket.

Ever since, I've had a standard ringing as my ringtone.

Your ringtones cracked me up so much, though, I may have to get one. And even as I write this, my six year-old son is now trying to make his own ringtones, like the ones he heard coming from the computer.

Submitted by Anonymous User on September 11, 2007 - 5:10pm.

It is really fun to play them all at once. This is true Texan thought in action!

Submitted by Anonymous User on September 17, 2007 - 8:47am.

Oh, yeah, it's like a RLP fugue!

Submitted by Anonymous User on September 12, 2007 - 3:40pm.

Sorry, my phone meows. I stick it under my bra strap so that I can say, "Excuse me, my bra is meowing."

Submitted by Pensieve on September 14, 2007 - 9:54pm.

Somehow this reminded me of a cat playing with a ball of twine.

AND

I'm sitting here surfing, reading some old friends, when I play these gems. My entire family is asleep! Ummm...they were asleep :/.

(note to self: check the flippin' volume before you start playing ringtones!)

funny...reeeeal funny :D

Thank you. Thank you. What a way to start my day . . . a good, old-fashioned, tear-inducing belly laugh. Thank you. RevScottC

Submitted by Anonymous User on September 27, 2007 - 1:19pm.

OMG: Tears of laughter! I plugged in the headphones to listen to these at work, and I'm trying not to bust out laughing out loud. Suppressed laughter makes the tears even worse! Of course, the polite one is my favorite!
