Here and There

September 25, 2005 - 8:45pm

Here are a few things you might enjoy:

My brother Hugh wrote about one of the strangest church experiences either of us have ever had. It's so weird I almost question my memory of it. But yes, it really happened.

The blogger from Random Ruminations visited our church along with his wife. I also found this amusing link at his place. If you know what a trebuchet is, you'll probably appreciate this.

Chuck Sigars wrote an article about Amy & Michael Main for the Mukilteo Beacon.

And finally, some of the regulars in the chat room are now calling themselves, "Real Live Pirates." There are a number of interesting games they play. Whenever I drop in, someone always types, "Look Busy!." Yes, there is now a Real Live Pirate website and even t-shirts  you can buy. I'm thinking of buying the "Look Busy" shirt myself. BTW, I did not come up with this idea or have anything to do with the site. Nor do I receive any money from it. It's all in fun. The profits from the t-shirts will bed sent to a hurricane relief fund.

Enjoy!

Hey man! Thanks for the link! It will be a traffic spike like that I received when I wrote about the engineering of New Orleans levees. :) Wife and I really enjoyed the visit with you and the folks at CBC. We'll make a point to come to San Antonio again. Next time I'll give you a heads-up so we can grab lunch or coffee or something. We'd like that a lot.

My pirate name is Dirty John Kidd

"You're the pirate everyone else wants to throw in the ocean -- not to get rid of you, you understand; just to get rid of the smell. Even though you're not always the traditional swaggering gallant, your steadiness and planning make you a fine, reliable pirate. Arr!"

such fun.
