I've Been Away

November 15, 2005 - 10:46am

I've been away for a couple of days. Jeanene and I went to Georgetown to visit my parents. I had Sunday off, which was nice.

I spent Monday wandering around the Baptist General Convention of Texas annual meeting in Austin. I've been a messenger from my church to this meeting every year since 1992. This year I was not there to vote or even to pay attention to anything, really. I saw old friends, tried to write a little, and visited with my in-laws.

We got home Monday night in time for me to watch that incredible Monday Night Football game. Go Cowboys!

Anyway, I just wanted you to know where I've been.

The Christmas CD seems to be selling okay. Maybe 75 or so. I'm hoping sales will pick up in December as we get closer to Christmas. Thinking about how something sells or doesn't sell is rather new for me, and I don't really like it. But I am trying to make a part of my living as a writer, so there are realities I cannot escape. So be it. We'll see how it goes.

RLP, when is the downloadable version of "Christmas Story" coming available? I'm waiting for that. Thanks!

I am completely helpless as to when the downloadable version is available. It's supposed to be available at several places. There is some kind of slowdown. I hope before the end of November or it's not going to do me much good. As soon as it happens, I'll tell you.

ps - if you want to send an email to itunes and bug them, maybe they will get it online. They've had it for a month.

Thanks for the reminder. I bought a copy when they came out, and loved it. I just ordered some more copies as gifts for Christmas (I won't say for whom, since I've referred a bunch of people to your blog :-)

Your readers in Philly must have gagged on their granola this morning when they read "Go Cowboys" in your post...

Ha!!! I do remember sometime ago you saying you were losing interest in the Cowboys! Remember my comment about the two Bills meeting in Detroit? It could still happen.......

Well, I guess I'm happy that the NFL won't have to worry about accusations of home field advantage for the Super Bowl..
Stinkin' Lions.. :)
