Damn that was brilliantly evil as only a child can come up with.

So we are the same age, have young daughters, and grew up in El Paso. I knew I liked you.

My memories of dust devils are a little different.

My Grandfather was a barber in downtown El paso at the Hilton hotel. One of his customers was the infamous private eye JJ Armes. As you may or may not know Armes had hooks for hands. Yes it may sound like a pun, but they were big and chrome and I as a child was fascinated.

One of my most vivd memories is of my Grandfather telling me that, as a child, JJ Armes was caught in a dust devil and lost both of his hands. Now GranGran is one of the most loving men I know, and why he would tell an impressionable child such a story is beyond me. To this day I still regard dust devils as disfiguring winds from hell. But I cherish the memory of his tale and love him all the more.

I think that most of us who have grown up as the older brother or sister has a story or two to tell concerning the misuse of our power with younger siblings. I remember it being one of the ways to compensate for the "You should know better! You are the oldest!" from parents.
