I should have mentioned this a few days ago,
but tonight I'm going to be a guest on Christopher Lydon's
Open Source radio show. I got an email about this a few days ago but
somehow let the date slip up on me. It is Monday, right?
The
subject we are discussing is how Christianity
works with and within our democratic system of government. Christopher Lydon has
gone to great pains to emphasize that this is not a show about the separation of
church and state (something that I value GREATLY). Instead, the question is, how
should Christians live out their Christianity within our culture and government?
If you are a Christian and a politician, say, how does your faith contribute to
your work? Where are the boundaries?
It's an interesting subject, and I'm looking
forward to the conversation. Other guests are Bill McKibben and Ted Haggard.
Information about them is available at the open source website.
There is a live stream of the conversation at
7pm EST. Links to that stream are also at Open Source.
This kind of stuff is still VERY weird to me. I
can't quite wrap my mind around it. It helps if I remember that it's Real Live
Preacher they want to talk to. I guess I can understand that. So okay, I don't
mind letting him out to talk on the phone now and again. ;-)
