I've lived in Germany for three years now, grew up in Burundi, Africa, and in between times made my home in Oregon. So "home" is all over the place...
My favorite things about Germany: numerous bike trails, dark chocolate with hazelnuts, old cathedrals, stained glass windows, apple strudel, friendly bakery ladies, the euro (used all over Europe), storks, no ice in the drinks (that's how I grew up), church bells, and dog-friendly rest stops with water bowls and doggie kibbles for all.
