Mountain Pictures

Writing is my thing, but I've always loved drawing, which I cannot do very well but wish I could. And I love photography, which I constantly try. I have a rather simple camera, and I only know how to make a few adjustments, but I take a lot of pictures and hope some of them come out okay. I thought I'd post a few of them here.

Moonrise

I never knew that a moonrise could be as spectacular as a sunrise, but I caught a full moon rising over a silhouetted mountain. It's a very moonish looking thing.

I took these with the ISO lowered to 80 and on a tripod to keep the camera still. I did not adjust the colors at all, though I did make a slight adjustment to the exposure to bring out the clouds a bit.

Creede Cemetery

Creede has a fascinating old cemetery. It's like something out of a movie. Rickety, broken down wooden fences around graves from the 19th century with wooden headstones that you can't read anymore. Sort of run down and scary looking.

And a couple of fun photos. My oldest daughter and I hiking up in the mountains today. She took a shot of me from a great distance, after I hiked out onto a narrow ridge jutting out into a deep valley. South of Creede up Pool Table road.

No filters. No fancy camera tricks. That's just how it looked.
