Little help here?

So I’m trying to figure out exactly what this blog will look like over the next couple of years. I’ve committed myself to putting some serious time into RLP. I thought maybe you could help me think about this.

Well, I got the word yesterday from Christian Century. CCblogs, which I conceived, developed, and moderated is going to be handed over to their new internet editor. I hate to lose the gig, but it's not unfair. Christian Century has endowment funding, and I'm sure they have taken a hit with the economic downturn. And all magazines are facing dwindling subscriptions and sales. Paying a specialist to run CCblogs was a luxury. So no hard feelings. I understand. CCblogs will continue, so I'm

Life Changes

I have a lot of life changes happening right now. Some I can't talk about yet. Some are good, others not so good. I'll write about this when I can.

I'm working hard on the Consafo project. Going through 2000 rlp entries over the years, looking for stuff to include in the next book. And gathering writing that I've done over the years that has never been online.

I'll be posting stuff again soon. Thursday is my second Covenant story at the High Calling Blog site. Foy story coming soon too.

Mediocrity Me

I watched "American Movie" again in stunned amazement, just like the first time. My mouth hung open until the very end.

Mark Borchardt and his friend Mike Schank. What can you say, really?

Works in Progress

“Bearing Witness,” a Foy Davis story set in Fort Davis, Texas when Foy was in 3rd grade. Part one was posted 3-17-10. Part two should be ready next week.

“Lenten Satchel,” a short essay on the strange items that make up my Lenten journey this year. Because of Tracy’s comment. Posted here 3-18-10

Last Things,” an essay about my final days at Covenant. Soon to be published by the Christian Century. Will be linked here when it is online at the CC website.

My Latest Book

turtles I’m proud to announce that Turtles All The Way Down came out in November of 2009. This was my first experience with the Consafo model of social media community publishing.

2000 copies were printed. We sold well over 500 as advance purchases or in the weeks leading up to Christmas. This paid for the printing costs completely.

Purchase at GracefullThings.
